Positioning: More Than The Numbers
Rider Hunt has a distinguished history as the industry leader in quantity surveying, operating throughout, Australia, North America and the UK. Rider Hunt operated independently and in collaboration with two major players, Levett Baily in Asia and Bucknall Austin in the UK. In 2006 a decision was made to formalise and unify the three groups under one name. For the renaming exercise, a rigorous process was employed to ensure alignment of business philosophy and cultural fit. Work included executive workshops with the global board, and staff interviews across all major offices.
The research formed the basis for actionable insights, resulting in the service offering being simplified, a cultural blueprint, a definitive new positioning and the development of a new name. After much soul-searching and debate, a decision was made to opt for a conservative acronym of the three organisations: RLB Rider Levett Bucknall. Whilst this was not our recommendation the new positioning and majority of insights were implemented.
RLB Rider Levett Bucknall is now a global property and construction practice with over 80 offices across Asia, Oceania, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas.
